Get Rid of Pimples with Simple Treatments for Acne
Sometimes we get caught up in all the hype that is given to us that we fail to do the most basic things that really produce lasting effects. There are many treatments for acne out there, but many of them are complicated and require money to be spent. However, it’s often the basic things that can often help the most. Here are some really simple but often overlooked tips to effectively treating acne.
It is important to keep your hair pulled back away form your face, especially if it is long an oily. When you have an outbreak of acne, it is natural to try to cover up the area and often times, our hair will do just that. But instead of helping, it makes the outbreak worse because you end up just feeding the acne with the oils that are in your hair.
Another tip used in treating acne is to keep your hands off your face. This is very hard to do since we tend to lean on our hands and prop ourselves up all the time. Our hands have dirt and oils that we transfer to our face and then the pimples appear. You will notice the location of the outbreak will be in the areas that you habitually put your hands. Develop the discipline to break this habit.
Developing a cleansing regiment will keep your skin clean and oil free when treating acne. Be sure to cleanse your face twice a day using a gentle soap and follow with a toner. You can use a spot treatment for treating acne when necessary but do not over treat as this will result in dry, flaky skin.
When using makeup, choose one that is non-comedogenic so that it will not cause your skin to break out. Be sure to completely remove all make up before sleeping so that your skin can breathe during the night. If you are going to be home for a while be brave and go with out make up so that your skin gets a break.
Avoid picking or busting your pimples. When you do this, you inflame the blemish area and damage the skin. This results in a longer healing time and is not effective when treating acne because when you pop your pimple, you force more bacteria back into the skin causing more acne creating a cycle that never ends. Personally, I think this is the most helpful tip but it is also the most difficult one to follow. We all think that if we pop the pimple, it will go away quicker—just remember—popping, pinching or picking is BAD!
A properly balanced diet is vital to treating acne. Not only do you need to eat fruits and vegetables, you also need to be sure to drink at least 8 glasses of water per day to hydrate your skin. The drinking of water helps your body flush the waste products out and this helps promote healthy, radiant skin. The use of a good multi vitamin will assist your body maintain all the nutrients needs to help promote healthy skin.
Consistency is key when treating acne. You must develop a routine and stick with it if you are to be successful in clearing up blemishes, treating pimples or dealing with back acne. Once you develop your method, you will be surprised how easy it is to follow. These treatments for acne are all easy to follow, so make sure try them to get rid of that acne for good!
